Do you wish you were Japanese? Do you eat Ramen like it is the last food on this planet? Do you crave Japanese games?  Well as for the first two, I can’t help you, but for the last one: this is a weekly article featuring popular and quirky titles just released in Japan. Each article will feature brand-spanking-new games for each system, tell you what they are, what is new about them, and when (if) they are expected to make it over here. Grab your Pocky, Ramune, Pikachu slippers, and retsu go!

Highlights this week: Wii Fit Plus, Everybody's Sukkiri, Dynasty Warriors Multi Raid Special

DS
Inazuma Eleven 2: Kyoui no Shirykusha- Fire
Inazuma Eleven 2: Kyoui no Shiryokusha- Blizzard

In the original Inazuma Eleven, the main character (Endou Mamoru) is a very talented goalkeeper. One day, a mysterious forward moves to town, setting Endou on his own journey: to recruit new members for his team. The genre for this game is a sports RPG. Yes, it can be done. The player must choose from 1000 characters with varying skills for the team. Those chosen ultimately decide the fate of the team. The new game includes an entirely new storyline, same main character and 1500 characters to choose from. The difference in Fire and Blizzard is the main playable characters, enemies encountered and skills available for team members. What makes this new game awesome? This time aliens are invading and the local soccer team is the only hope! Seriously.
Will it make it to America? Nope. Same as it’s predicessor.

PSP

Gran Turismo

Everybody’s Sukkiri

If I had a game of the week, this would certainly be it. A mini-game collection of household chores, Everybody’s Sukkiri encourages clean habits. The main menu consists of vacuuming, baseball, books, soldiering, sword-fighting and karate. Vacuuming, for example, has the player working as a maid in an unkempt house. Be wary of obstacles like gerbils, or you may find yourself with a broken vacuum and a mad employer. The sword-fighting mini-game has the player working hard as a salt-shaker defending the kitchen counter top from various assaults by vegetables. As the game is certainly unique, most reviewed it as rather enjoyable.
Will it make it to America? Nothing has been announced, so far. I would like to try this one, however!

Macross Ultimate Frontier
The game features classic Macross space combat, as well as planet side combat. The game has many environments, all teaming with things to see and interact with. The game was published as homage to the ending of the Macross anime. It features many memorable scenes, characters, and battles. Of course, all of the main female characters will be there (Lynn Minmay, Sheryl Nome, Ranka Lee) to sing over 20 songs. The game is full of action that any true Macross fan can appreciate. Included animes: Do You Remember Love?, Flash Back 2012, Macross Plus, Macross 7, Macross Dynamite 7, Macross Frontier and Macross Zero.
Will it make it to America? The prior Macross game never made it here and so far no date has been announced.

Wii

Dead Space Extraction

Wii Fit Plus
A multitude of new features, Wii Fit Plus comes with everything that was (essentially) missing from the original. Players can now choose the length of their workout (20, 30 or 40 minutes) as well as what kind of workout. Workouts can also be customized depending on the day (Yoga on Tuesday, the like). New targeting programs allow players to determine a goal or a particular area to work out. There are 15 new balance games, alongside 6 new strength training and yoga activities. On another note, Wii fit now allows avatars and weight tracking for cats and dogs. Oh the things people think of. Wii Fit Plus can be purchased separately, or bundled with the balance board.
Will it make it to America? Yep, it arrives in stores today, October 4th.

Playstation 3

Trinity Universe

This new title from Idea Factory combines Disgaea and Atelier Viorate for the first time in 3D. A sci-fi fantasy RPG, Trinity Universe works through two different storylines: one from the demons and one from the goddesses. Most of the game consists of conversation and dungeon crawling. In the story, the player is trying to stop space debris from crashing into the planet. After a while, it is realized that there is more to this debris than originally noticed and the player must join forces with demons and alchemists to solve it.
Will it make it to America? No date has been announced, but publisher Nippon Ichi Software has expressed a desire to bring it here.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2

Xbox 360

Cross Edge Dash

This new port from the PS3 will feature an array of new elements, so much in fact that the game merited a whole new title: Cross Edge Dash. The game will include a new Coliseum mode, where players can face off against a string of enemies. New event artwork will also be included, as well as a handful of other additions. The original Japanese company Compile Heart is publishing the game.
Will it make it to America? Not likely considering the poor reviews it got over here.

Xbox 360/ Playstation 3
Dynasty Warriors Multi Raid Special

As with the original on PSP, players can have up to four friends join in on the action, and can also take advantage of coordinated attacks against legions of enemies, massive fortresses and hulking beasts. Players are gifted with supernatural abilities and may take the action to the sky. In both single and multiplayer quests, air techniques are now a large part of the dynamic action. The game will include character customization, challenges and downloadable extras. New to the console version, characters will be able to transform into super-charged alter egos, along with chat and voice functions.
Will it make it to America? No official date, but it will be here eventually, undoubtedly.

Ja ashita ne! See you next week!
