As of September 29, 2009, SWTOR finally opened it's doors to closed beta applications. Naturally, within minutes the site was down due to the unexpected high volume of new traffic. Don't fret, web masters have since then fixed the problem. Applicants will be selected based on PC specs, age, gender and other factors. However, developers have yet to announce a notification date for applicants.

For those still in the dark, SWTOR is an upcoming MMORPG for the PC. The game features two factions: the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire. As of yet, four classes have been announced as Sith Warrior, Bounty Hunter, Trooper and Smuggler. Players moral decisions actively influence the storyline as well as NPC relationships. If players fails to meet an NPC's expectation, they may even find them selves in particularly bad spot. A handful of planets will be available for play; Korriban, Ord Mantell, Nal Hutta, Tytho and Coruscan among those. The story actually takes place 3,500 years before the events of the Star Wars movies.
