In this day and age we're all about saving money. However, our penny-pinching ways don't mean we have to miss out on all the technology we love; to do so would be denying our right to geek out! This coming January there's an event specifically meant for geeking out, and registration happens to be a hefty 200 bucks.

Unless you're in the know.... then you'd know you can get in for free.

How, you ask?

The Consumer Electronics Show has been convening since 1967 and is still going strong almost 43 years later. Like E3 it is a closed convention so it requires you to have at least a slight presence in the industry (a blog will do). Unlike E3, its setting is in Sin City where the Adult Entertainment Expo also goes on during the same time, and even in the same building!

This year's focus for CES is “Living in Digital Times,” said Karen Chupka, senior vice president, events and conferences, CEA. “We're thrilled to bring Living in Digital Times to the 2010 CES, where attendees will experience the latest technology products that impact every consumer lifestyle – from children and college students to parents and senior citizens.”

In a convention that housed companies to first announce the arrival of such tech marvels as the HDTV, Blu-Ray, Xbox, Nintendo and DVD, it can be argued that this is the most epic exhibition of nerd in the United States.

Registration is free for the next 48 hours so make sure to get registered before October starts! Here is the link to do so, It was a blast last year and promises to be even better in 2010. Are you going?

i'm not sure if i'd call Nintendo a tech marvel the wii i think is still a gimmick but then again i'm completely bias so my opinion is naught.

@ Klasco
why you hating on the Wii for? It's actually really fun. What are you bias towards? Plus can't deny the sales. I love my Wii and DSi :-D

Don't get me wrong i can understand it can be fun for people but still i think it is ridiculously over priced for the technology it has though it's not the only thing granted.

I was referring to the revealing of the original Nintendo, actually. =) And about CES -- free registration was extended until the 7th!
