The title is pretty self explanatory, just click the jump already. I wrote a mini-novel just for you guys.

After nearly a year of writing for GameGirl.com, this is my farewell letter to all of you. I really enjoyed writing for the site and I actually gained more than experience in the process, but it's time for us to part ways.

I want to first and foremost thank all of the GameGirls, Raychul, Andy, Tae, Craig, Luis, etc. for making this possible and for seeing enough potential in me to let me write for you! You guys inspire me and remind me that people can have a job, enjoy it, and thrive from seeing something do well. (Insiders note: Craig, seeing you at E3 and how much you really loved this site meant so much to me, and I think you and your team not only impact each other in a positive manner, but are incredibly encouraging and make a huge difference in the way people view themselves and their positions.)

I also wanted to thank the people who gave me (constructive) feedback on my articles and helped give me ideas and fuel my opinions. Without you guys, I wouldn't have felt nearly as comfortable as I have during this time and I truly feel like I've gained some fans and friends. Some of you really helped me through my rough patches and inspired me to keep on trekkin'. I got quite a few comments regarding an 'Ask the GameGirls' segment from way back when on how to meet gamer chicks. I have been planning on doing an entire segment mini-series surrounding this due to the reception volume, but I couldn't sort out how I wanted to go about it, so it never really came to fruition. Anyway, what I'm getting at is that a lot of you gave me a ton of support, especially regarding a few key articles and that 'ATGG'. You guys kept me going.

Aside from the people who have impacted me, I feel that I've taught myself some self discipline and learned a lot in the process of this entire experience. I may not be the first one to give you the news on the upcoming games, and I may write too much for a lot of your attention spans, but I enjoyed the hell out of writing about what I loved. I typically wrote on things that I had a passion for, and some of you enjoyed hearing about it and some of you couldn't care less, but it made me happy and I got good feedback on a fairly regular basis.

The reason I'm parting with GameGirl is for a few reasons, but mostly because I can't keep up with being consistently:

a. Interesting

b. Funny

c. Did I mention interesting?

I hold extremely high standards for myself in my writing, which is why there are no spelling or grammatical errors in my articles, and if there ever happens to be, I usually catch it before I post it or someone will kindly let me know and I'll go back and fix it. Believe me, writing at 1am skews your thought process and we all make mistakes. The English language isn't all that holds my writing together, though. I have to have interesting content and keep the readers attention throughout my entire article. Somtimes I enjoy adding silly videos or pictures via hyperlink to keep you on your toes-- When reading most of my articles, I want people to view it and say 'That's a pretty splendiferous post." But when you go down the line and click the hyperlinks, there are times where you may say things like:

a. "That crazy Rini, always posting silly pictures."

b. "Is this girl on crack???"

I can see how some of you may come to conclusion b., but I assure you, I'm only high on life and am completely drug free.

Honestly, I feel that it's just time for me to move on. I'll miss you guys, but if any of you who haven't already added me on my GameGirl myspace would like to keep in touch, the link is www.myspace,com/GameGirl_Rini.

I don't want to forget anyone in my thank you list, but a few of you made a huge impact and helped a lot, so I think you should be recognized. These are the people I've kept in constant contact with along the way, so don't think if you aren't listed, you didn't help me or make me smile :) I'll keep it to screennames so none of you are tracked down or raped.

Rini,
I'm super sad to hear this. You were kind to me right off the bat, when we were both just starting out. Meeting you at E3 was ten times more fun. I feel like you were part of my little family at GameGirl, and seeing you leave will inevitably take some of the spin out of it. Your articles always made me smile, for sure. Never hesitate to come say hey to me! I may not be the one to go out and write lengthy emails, but anything from a friend is greatly adored. Best of luck in the future, love.

You're a great girl Rini, and your love for gaming showed through in your writing. It's sad to see you go, and I wish you all the best. Don't forget to keep it touch.

In what manner are you referring to? As a whole or the gaming industry specifically?

P.S. Ninja - Yay Texas! Did we mention this before? Which part are you from?

For gaming, or whatever. Are you still gonna try and do something gaming related?

Maybe like your own blog where you don't feel as pressured?

Just wondering.
