It looks like all the Aussies who eagerly awaited taking on the Infected with L4D's sequel are getting bit by governmental zombies instead. The Australian Office of Film and Literature has officially put a country-wide ban on the sale of the game. But why?

If you're not familiar with Austrialia's strict classificiation process, be thankful The gamers of this country are forced to play mature games with removed and edited content, or not play at all. According to the AU powers that be, all games that are "unsuitable for a minor to see or play" are immediately put on the chopping block for "refused classification," which bans the game entirely.
So why did Left 4 Dead 2 deserve this classification and not the original game? Upon inspection of the country's decision report, the current title had a leg up on its predessesor, literally. Limbs flew about the screen and the report states these "..attacks cause copious amounts of blood spray and splatter, decapitations and limb dismemberment as well as locational damage where contact is made to the enemy which may reveal skeletal bits and gore.'"
This aspect was not in present in the previous video game. If my memory serves me, Fallout 3 had the same kind of body part scattering, but Australia banned that game not for its gore, but the in-game drug use. The difference between Fallout 3 and Left for Dead 2 is that Fallout 3 has an edited version that can be sold and played in Australia, while L4D2 remains chopped liver. Pun intended.
