My question is: do other gamers make fun of you or go easy on you just because your a girl? It always seems that in online games, the guys always complain when a girl is online, and some even team-kill them since they "cant fight back", and people on the other team say they'll stand still so that she can kill them. In my opinion, it doesn't matter what gender my teamate(s) are, and i sometimes prefer to have a girl on my team, since most male teamates I had to work with were completely retarded and kept team-killing, which let the other team grab the flag in ctf while we were fighting each other.

Most of the online games I play have pretty good communities and I never get treated differently one way or another just because I'm a girl. Which is exactly how I want it. It helps that the games I love playing online like Fat Princess and Team Fortress 2 are too hectic for anyone to care what gender you are. Fighting games are a bit of a different story, but I won't get into that now.

Hey Scourge7! Honestly, I don't play online in random match-making levels, I only play with friends of mine that I know. I think you're going to run into the assholes that are in online games no matter what sex, race or sexual orientation you are. So for me, I stay away from games that have a lot of strangers in it and stick to friend-only maps.
The only time I play with other gamers I do not know is when I do online beta tests, but then usually the other players that are in the beta as well are very mature and professional guys and girls who are there to play the game.

Nope, I've never really had this problem. I, for the most part, only play with my friends, co-workers, nerdPoker etc. The rare occasions I play in the public matches I'm usually in private party. However, I have heard horror stories along these lines before. 12 year old playing Halo 3 conduct themselves this way. If you're playing with people that act like this, it is not because you are a girl. It is because they are immature kids whose only social interaction is XBL. Report them. Find a new game. Move on. Shoot some stuff.

In my experience I've had no elaborate pranks pulled on me in game because of my gender. However, not a day goes by that I don't get verbal comments shot my way.
Once I'm found out not to be a twelve year old boy, but a girl.. I usually get a "boob add" to their friends list, or some snide remark and a pick up line or two. As few as they come now, I embrace the lines and roll with the punches. It keeps me witty!

I wouldn't say that people go easy on me. I've had some guys try to protect me (See chivelry hasn't died. LOL!), but it gets annoying. I want to be treated the same as anyone else. But for the most part, guys can be hard on you. Whether it is harrassing or just wanting to prove or point (see if she can take it so to speak). I finish out my game and then leave the party. However, I also like to play online with people that I know. That way I know I'll have someone good on my side. :)
What are some of your game suggestions?
