WET shot up into my top five most wanted games this holiday season when I had the opportunity to sit down with the game and play it last week. This action-packed, third person shoot by Bethesda is like nothing I have played before. I felt as if I was playing through a Quentin Tarantino movie and kept thinking about how this would make the perfect Kill Bill video game. WET combines gun combat, sword fighting and acrobatics with its gritty, used film style that gives it a very unique sense of gameplay. I was blown away and taken by complete surprise at just how amazing and different WET was once I got my hands on it.

WET stars a street-savvy Rubi Malone (voiced by Eliza Dushku) who is a contract killer working for a man who wants her to bring him back his son. Of course, things don't go as planned and Rubi is on a killing spree in search of revenge for the man who betrayed her. Shoot, stab and fight your way to the truth. Oh, and don't forget to kick those annoying monkeys with the symbols while you're at it.

I was impressed with WET's controls, at first I had a hard time with the tutorial but once I got the hang of it I felt like a seasoned pro. I loved the variety of kills and that the game allowed me to use the weapon or style that I preferred. Killing enemies while in the middle of an acrobatic move allowed you to chain together combos which would pay off later as you could spend them to upgrade your character in the shop after each chapter. If jumping and shooting isn't your thing, then you could just whip out your sword and slash some faces instead.
While in mid-acrobatic move (whether it was jumping, sliding, wall-running or slipping down a ladder) you could control one of your two guns while the other gun was on more of an auto aim which made things much simpler and easy to get the hang of.

Overall, the game's style is refreshingly original and gorgeous. The amount of detail in the environments and in the character designs is impressive and the gameplay is highly addictive. This title went from a game I was interested in to a must-have title for this year's holiday releases. WET is a game you do not want to miss while in the middle of all the other big titles. This year is the year of sequels, but WET is the game that will change all of that. WET is scheduled to be released September 15th for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
