We got our hands on some Deca Sports 2 last week from Hudson Games. The game will include ten sports, hence "deca", that include Kendo, Darts, Dodge Ball, Speed Skating, Synchronized Swimming, Motorcycle Racing, Downhill Skiing, Bocce Ball, Tennis and Ice Hockey.

One of the major complaints raised from the first Deca Sports was the absence of online play. That's all changed and players will now be able to enjoy hockey, tennis and dodgeball with the use of their friend codes. A "team editor" is now added because Nintendo had denied the use of Mii's. With the editor, you can create team names, colors looks and their emblem. You can pick from small, medium or larger athletes and take them through the Deca League. It would be your players versus four teams in all ten sports. However, be sure not to use the same athletes for every sport as they will get tired. So trade them out every once in a while.

I got to play a few sports, Motorcycle Racing where the Wii-Remote was held on its side using the 2 button as gas, then steering as you would a vehicles wheel. In Kendo, the goal was to hit the opponent once, and the best two out of three wins. Using the D-Pad up and down moves you forwards and backwards, then making a jabbing motion with the controller causes you to strike. B is your blocking. Synchronized Swimming was my favorite of the bunch I tried. There were three songs to choose from. Rhapsody In Blue was the song we decided upon. I honestly wish there had been more songs. We were male synchronized swimmers, I thought it was quite cute.

Overall, Deca Sports 2 has a very easy learning curve and will make a great addition to any family. You can expect to find Deca Sports 2 this Fall for the Wii.
