When Capcom heard that we would be cosplaying as two of their Street Fighter characters they quickly reached out to us to ask if we would be involved with their Capcom booth at this now past Comic Con. We were asked to be booth babes (or "ring girls") for their booth on Thursday and Saturday during their Tatsunoko vs. Capcom and Marvel vs. Capcom 2 tournaments. Representing GameGirl.com and GamePro at the Capcom booth, we posed for many pictures and cheered on the guys who were competing. This is our experiences behind being booth babes.

This was my first time doing any type of "booth babe" kind of work, so I was not sure what to expect. For me, it was wake up super early to give myself ample time to get into costume, make it down to the convention center an hour early because, yes, it did take me an hour to get through the front doors of the convention to the Capcom booth, and then be at Capcom for our first hour at 10:45am. The first day we spent time down below the stairs to the play area posing for photos, but then our second shift that day we were up on the stage cheering on the gamers and posing for more pictures with the tournament signs. The area around the booth got so packed by the third day that security kept threatening to shut us down unless we could get all the con-goers to clear a path for people to walk through. It was crazy and I loved every second of it.

This was probably the most fun I had on the show floor. I loved hanging out with JesV in our costumes, pointing out the cameras to each other and posing with all the fans. I even got to watch some of the game while the guys were competing and there were some really great moments where the competition got pretty fierce. The Capcom guys were awesome to work with as well and a few of them made great MC's for the events. I hope I get more opportunies like this, since I really had such a great time. JesV is the best "booth babe" partner, ever! I thank all the guys at Capcom for making this such a great experience, if you guys ever need a Cammy again, please feel free to let me know!

More of my favorite video games and characters have come from the world of Capcom. It was my distinct pleasure to be a part of their boxing ring booth at San Diego Comic-Con this year as Chun Li. I was beyond excited when I was told the news that Raychul and I would be "ring girls" during their Tatsunoko vs. Capcom and Marvel vs. Capcom 2 tournaments. Being a rabid fangirl of fighting games in general, especially MvsC 2, it was hard for me to concentrate on the crowd as I was fascinated by the matches! I watched a good majority of the Evo tournament the previous week and was looking for any similarities in gameplay style. Plus, I was just looking for good matches all around. The Capcom staff were fantastic and gave us the Marvel vs. Capcom 2 Mix Tape on blue vinyl and the Lost Planet 2 giant salamander plushie as a thank you.
I felt so welcomed by Capcom and their great fans! I'm surprised Raychul and I can still see from all the flashes from the pictures. As a tip to fans, what I appreciated the most were the people that actually spoke to us, asked for pictures, thanked us and most of all, were polite. Yes, it's not that hard to do but trust me, Raych and I love your company! So next time you see a cool Chun Li and Cammy hanging around, come say "hello!" Don't be shy and please don't just snap pictures from underneath your arm and barely look at us, it's a little strange. I promise, we wouldn't cosplay if we didn't like showing off our fun costumes! I can't thank Capcom enough for letting me be a part of their Comic-Con and thank you to everyone who helped make it happen!
