Masaya Matsuura, the current president of NanaOn-Sha and the father of Parappa the Rapper and Um Jammy Lammy speaks out about Project Natal. At the Develop Conference earlier this week he spoke about the future of music games and how Microsoft's new technology could lend itself well to the genre. Read more after the jump!

After their recent Wii title Major Minor's Majestic March, hopes are to expound upon motion controls.

"It's very interesting," said Matsuura. "We are thinking about ideas. I think any kind of interaction with a camera will be good for music games, but the important thing will be how we can find the new breed of gameplay. That will be a very important thing.

"Guitar Hero and Rock Band and The Beatles: Rock Band, is just taking traditional rock music. Of course there are so many rock fans on the earth, so they will have a huge impact for the market. But there is other attractive music, so please try to find another style, another interaction, another gameplay with another type of music."

This is the first interesting project I've truly heard so far about Project Natal. If they could pull off a Rhythm hip-hop game that required you to really kick, punch, and freestyle that would be amazing! I hope to see more development of this in the future, as I love the original Parappa and Um Jammy Lammy games.

Now I leave you with my favorite stage from the original Parappa Game!
