There has been quite a lot of news surrounding Left 4 Dead 2 ever since it's announcement at this past E3 Expo. Some gamers are upset with the announcement, feeling that it is "too soon" for a sequel and thinking that Valve has deserted the first of this zombie-apocalypse-survival series. I think these same gamers will be happy to hear the confirmation that Left 4 Dead 2 will be compatible with all user-created content from the first game upon release.

Chet Faliszek from the Valve Corportaion has gone on record saying:

"For modders, everything they make in Left 4 Dead will work in Left 4 Dead 2. It'll work better if they bring it into Left 4 Dead 2 and recompile it for Left 4 Dead 2, using some of the additions we've made, but it'll work out of the box as well. We just want to make sure that anyone who's making a mod now knows that their time's going to be well spent."

While still talking about the future for both Left 4 Deads', Faliszek talked about hoping to find some way to bring gamers of both titles togther:

"We need to have some way that those fans who buy the new game and own the old game, or want to pick up the old the game... We've talked about some kind of way for all of that to work. We don't have anything concrete yet that we can say. But definitely we've thought about community and we've thought about those worlds."

The Demo: Also new in Left 4 Dead 2 news is the confirmation of the demo which will be available early for those who pre-order the game. The multiplayer demo will be available to gamers who pre-order the Xbox 360 version in stores or the PC version on Steam. There is still no confirmed demo release date or any info on whether the pre-order bonus will be available at only exclusive retail outlets. Stay tuned.

The Health Pack: Lastly, for all of you Left 4 Dead fans out there who are like me and have an obsession with collecting video game trinkets - then this one is for you! Etsy user, Sindeegee has come up with a great idea and has started making Health Packs from the game. The pack goes for $30 and if you want one you have to act fast, the first pack went in less than 24 hours.

Left 4 Dead 2 will be available November 17th on the 360 and PC only.

I really don't see what the big deal is, isn't there enough new content to justify a sequel? Really, even if you think of it as an expansion pack it would still cost the same as downloadable content. Valve doesn't fail us, have a little faith.

Wow. Looking forward to the sequel, but I only have a PC version of the original Left 4 Dead and I really curious if the system requirements for the L4D2 are the same as the original version.

I have faith that Valve won't let us down, you can't always please everyone regardless of what it is. They're obviously doing something right, or they wouldn't be one of the bigger companies in the states.
