Until now, the hit musical "Grease" has kept it's successes to the silver screen and the stage. But recently 505 games and Paramount pictures have announced that they will be collaborating to bring the musical to your Nintendo DS and Wii. So click on the jump to find out more!

On wednesday, Paramount pictures and 505 games announced that they will be developing "Grease" into a gamily game. As of now it seems that Grease will be a T-Bird and Pink Lady themed karaoke game. Very few detals have been released since the game was just announced.
According to Paramount pictures, players will be taking "full advantage of the Nintendo Wii's motion-sensing controls and microphone and the DS touch screen" The DS is already equipped with a microphone, so maybe the Wii version comes with a microphone peripheral.

Adam Kline, president of 505 games has stated that "The 'Grease' movie is a timeless pop culture icon, and 505 Games is eager to bring the first interactive experience ased on the film to fans around the world, we're looking forward to working with Paramount Digital Entertainment to put players in the middle of all the fun with this all new videogame. "
At the same press conference, John Kavanagh, Senior Vice Presiden of Video Games for Paramount Digital Entertainment said that "Grease is the ideal opportunity to reach a broad gaming audience who love to sing, dance and have fun with a party-style game"

Grease has always held a special place in my heart as one of my favorite musicals of all time. So I would love to have a good time singing "We Stay Together" at the top of my lungs with friends. However I fail to see how the movie/musical will be able to translate well as an interactive experience that targets more than the tween/avid grease fan audiences. 505 games has also worked on various successful titles such as Cooking Mama and Armored Core. I can only see this game being truly successful if Paramount and 505 games manage to incorporate original tracks from the musical or at least getting some of the original actors on board.
With that in mind, I leave you with with a little something to bring back memories, enjoy.
