It is my pleasure as a writer to occasionally throw the spotlight on exceptional things made by fans for fans. Even when true heart and soul has been put into a piece, fan media rarely gets the credit it deserves. The Baroness' Choice is a weekly column that will feature these labors of love. Last week I featured the fanfilm There Will be Brawl. This week's feature is an excellent photo shoot from Savage Land Pictures starring none other than our favorite runner, Faith from Mirror's Edge.
It takes ambition and passion to pull off a photoshoot at the level this team put together. The talented photographers and make up artists at Savage Land Pictures spent several months planning to bring to life this unique game. Photographer Jesse James Allen had said about the project, that his goal was to recreate a Hollywood movie style set in his photos. He chose Mirror's Edge because it was something that could plausibly exist in a real world setting. Wide angled shots and epic locations breath life into Mirror's Edge's protagonist and world. Faith, played by Yen Ryder is a professional model hairstylist. Attention to details in costume design and the look of Faith adds even further to the believability of the set.
These photos are astounding and really show off what an ambitious project this effort was. The poses that some shots feature Faith doing are what impressed me. Check out the entire Flickr slideshow to see the photos in their high resolution glory.
