After many rumors of an Uncharted movie since it's release in 2007, the rumors have been confirmed and Columbia Pictures picks up the rights to an Uncharted: Drake's Fortune movie. The new video game-to-movie script will be written by Kyle Ward, who also wrote Kane & Lynch for Lionsgate and working on Hitman 2 with 20th Century Fox. Not sure if the news that the guy writing the script knows about bringing games to the big screen makes me happy or if it makes me even more nervous because those video game adaptations don't look promising at all. We will see.
What has not been confirmed, or even hinted at, is the question we all want to know: "Who is going to be taking over the role of Nathan Drake?" Recently we have been hearing that Matthew McConaughey will be cast as Drake, but this horrifying thought would only convince me not to go see the film. If you have played this PS3 exclusive game you would know that only one man can fill those shoes, and that would be Firefly's Nathan Fillion. Gamers want Fillion!
