Michael Pachter delivered his thoughts on gaming multiple times. But his most recent predictions was made about the Nintendo Wii.

He stated "Wii supply has finally exceeded demand, so we expect hardware sales to show year-over-year decreases for the first half of 2009. In order to hit its full-year Wii shipment forecast, we expect Nintendo to cut the price of the Wii before [the] holiday, likely to $199.99."

Whether this prediction is true or not is up for debate, but only time will tell. I do agree with Practer that a price drop would definitely help in sales. No matter what the system, whether it is the PS3 or the Wii. I know many individuals who are waiting to purchase until the systems take another drop. Not because they think it isn't worth it's  value, but because they do not want to purchase a system and have it drop price a month later. It is the case for many individuals, especially in today's economy.

Nintendo's president Satoru Iwata has been quoted stating that price drops are a "mistake" and sends the message that it is always better to wait. However, Nintendo might want to consider a price drop after viewing the decrease in sales over the last few months.

SO keep an eye out, and who knows we may just see a drop in time for the holiday season.

klasco

i think this is where true casual gaming begins and dies on the Wii that is.

why because can you really think of a Wii 2, i mean if you want a Wii 2 get a 360 by which time there will be a Xbox720.

Everybody surely agrees the Nintendo Wii is overpriced considering the Hardware
