Hey Gamers,
What career would you ideally like to see yourself in, and do you see the GameGirls as part of helping you to get there?
Thanks,

Wow, interesting question!! Well, personally, I definitely would like to be in the gaming industry, but it would be in addition to my career goal. This may sound strange, but I want to train service dogs for the hearing/physically disabled. At the same time, since I started writing for GameGirl, I've become more involved in the gaming community, and I definitely think that writing for the site has helped me in many ways. I think if there's a good way of getting my foot in the door for a position involving gaming, this experience will definitely push that in the right direction. I don't know exactly what I aim for in the gaming community, but I certainly intend to stay plugged in, because I really do love it.
I love this website, I love the girls who write with me, and I love the ability to do what I do. I don't plan on leaving any time soon and I hope to become well-known with some of the big names like Mega64, Tommy Tallarico, Kevin Pereira, Morgan Webb etc. I could go on forever. I really respect a lot of people in the industry and I strive to become more like them and in turn gain their respect as well. This is my dream.

Thanks for the question. I've always known I wanted a job in the entertainment industry, even since I was a child. When I was a kid I wanted to be a Disney animator and I loved drawing, but as I grew older I got more interested in video games. I wanted my career to be part of what I loved. Now I know I want my career to be involved either in the development of games or reporting on them. I definitely think that GameGirl can help me break out into game journalism. Which is why I'm so happy to be a part of the site.

I would love to be a part of any form of journalism for videogames, whether it be photo journalism or hosting some game related tv show, or writing for GamePro as a career. Even though GameGirl doesn't necessarily pay us in wages, I like to think of it as them paying us in "nerd money". Because GameGirl gives me amazing experience writing about my passion, videogames, and it provides me with opportunities to truly get a glimpse into the videogame industry. So I definitely see GameGirls as a piece of my journey to achieving my dream.

I am pretty much doing my dream job right now. Working with GamePro on GameGirl.com is really just an amazing gig, and I love ever aspect of it. I would love to go further with my career in the gaming industry by doing more on-camera hosting and correspondent work covering gaming events and doing interviews. I have done tons of video hosting jobs with sites and magazines like GamePro, Official Playstation Magazine and the Jay Leno show, it's definitely my passion. I plan to continue working as hard as I can on every project I am involved in and I hope that I continue to be able to work in the gaming industry as much as I am now, if not even more.

I'm in school pursuing a degree in Journalism so I know I want to keep writing. I also like to host too, I host a webshow and a podcast(with Miz Calamity and Heather) so getting my voice out there is something I want to keep doing. Ideally I'd like to be a video game/geek/technology corespondent. I know the options for that are extremely limited so I'll just keep working on it and see where it takes me. I absolutely think writing for GameGirl is helping. GameGirl has given me a chance to write, get the my opinions and the news out there.

As of right now I am in college getting a degree in marketing. I plan to use my degree in the gaming industry so GameGirl has definitely helped me get into the industry by combining two things I'm extremely passionate about, gaming and writing. I would love to make a career out of journalism but my dream job is to work for Sony! GameGirl has definitely given me a taste of what the industry is like and has provided me with such great opportunities like attending E3 and SD Comicon. Writing for GameGirl has definitely added to the desire of working in the industry.

My career goal is to be a gaming journalist. Well let me change that, a full-time gaming journalist. I've always loved the gaming industry, and have also written a lot over the years. But I never really put two and two together for a long time.
Then I started to write for GameGirl and GamePro, and although GameGirl does not pay me physically. It defintiely has in other ways. GameGirl has given me the opportunity to showcase my writing to a wide audience, and to write about what I love. I have met a wonderful bunch of ladies, and it also helped me to get noticed by GamePro. So I get to occasionally write reviews for them as well. So yes, GameGirl has definitely helped me on my path to my career aspirations.
So in a way I am living my dream. I just want to make it into a career. Whether it is blogs, reviews, or editorials, I am up for the challenge. But hopefully one day I will reach full-time status (and acheive my goal)!
