Today, April 27th, marks the 17th anniversary of Kirby's first appearance. So, in light of this, and considering there are twenty games featuring this adorable pink blob, I urge everyone to get out an old (or even new) Kirby game. Heck, even make some kind of arts and crafts project out of it! Here, I listed a few 'Kirby Krafts' that will show your spirit. If you send in a photograph of your craft, I'll post it in a later article. More details after the jump!
Who cares about Valentine's Day? 'Kirby Day' is when you really need to show your creative side! Below are some arts and craft projects with a Kirby theme that I found interesting. I expect all of you to do at least one of these projects. I also encourage you to take pictures of what you made before May 02, 2009 and I'll post them in an article!
7. Kirby Coloring Pages
This requires little-to-no effort and there are a ton of different pages here. If you wanted to make the old school white Kirby or the alternate white Kirby from Super Smash Bros, you'd hardly have to get crayons or map pencils out. At any rate, I suggest coloring some Kirby. It's not hard. Yes, he's pink. But that makes you more manly. Or uh.. awesome, if you're a chick. Then again, he has so many alternate colors, you could use pretty much anything.
6. Kirby Drawing
This asks a little more of the Kirby fan than coloring. You actually have to draw him. But come on, people, are you really that lazy?? He's just a blob with arms and feet! Draw a circle and you're basically done. Draw your favorite form of Kirby or draw him doing your favorite ability! Lord knows there's plenty of those to go around.
5. Kirby Paper Craft
Now we're getting into some more serious work. If you want to really show appreciation for Kirby, listen up. You can choose one of the Kirby papercrafts here, but don't be fooled by Kirby's simplicity- Papercraft is very tedious and requires meticulous work. But it's worth it in the end. Having an entire wall of Kirby papercrafts is sure to impress the ladies. Plus, it makes you better with your hands, which I'm sure some of you could use.
4. LEGO Kirby
Who wouldn't want to make their very own Kirby out of LEGOs? LEGOs are pretty much the coolest thing ever. If you still own some, pull this together. Again, you can make pretty much any color since Super Smash Bros. came out, so don't give me the excuse that you don't have pink LEGOs.
3. Kirby Cupcakes
One of Chaunteuse's first posts was about an incredible website that combines two of our favorite things. Food and video games! Step by step, you are walked through how to make many different snacks. Who doesn't love cupcakes? Plus, it's got Kirby on them! But I don't remember him having so much junk in the trunk... Maybe he should go on a diet.

For those of you who think cupcakes are too hard. Awh, they're so cute! You don't have to be a master at using gel icing. If you mess up, you could just make his mouth really big. Kirby has swallowed some pretty crazy things in his time.

Quite possibly one of the coolest things you could do is make something like this. However, it takes a little longer than the other ideas listed, which is why I have the deadline set to the 2nd. I have an instructional video for your convenience here.
