Great news! The original RPG from the PSone was re-released April 7th on the PlayStation Store! Bad news? Only in Japan. I know. I am really bummed too.

Re-releasing FFVII was Square Enix's way of celebrating for the upcoming Advent Children Complete Blu-ray release. The game is 1500 yen and a whopping 1715MB. I believe it goes unsaid, however, that 1500 yen is a deal for one of the greatest games on the PSone.

Sadly, this puppy probably won't see the American shores because Square Enix has already taken the liberty of re-releasing a handful of popular PSone games to download. None of those games have made it to our American PlayStation Store. Tear.

I find it odd that they never did do a remake of it like on the Tech Demo it would have made a mint and pushed sales of the PS3 a ton. But we all know Sony is stupid and a bunch of bone heads :-p

Great article i had no idea it was on the PSN store you are the first and only person to cover the story :-D

Square Enix is getting dumber now. They announced that they are going to released FF7 to the PlayStation store ONLY in Japan, but not in the States. And they are famously known for delaying certain upcoming blockbuster games like FFXIII.

Well technically Square Enix never said anything about whether or not they wanted to bring them to the US market. But it's pretty safe to assume that it won't just based on their past actions. However, I will keep my fingers crossed, that's for sure!

I think it makes HORRIBLE business sense to limit your business to just one small island country when you know the US spends more money and REALLY WANTS it. You are basically saying " no, we don't your stinky american money."

And yet the japanese call us americans stupid go fig huh :-p
