...or at least the name has been. Yesterday, 2K Marin cleared up some confusion on the full name of the sequel to BioShock; it’s called BioShock 2 — not BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams. The name with the tagline has been dropped.

Still excited? Hell yeah!

But now that I have your attention, that's not all...

Also announced in the newest Game Informer: BioShock 2 players will now be playing as the very first Big Daddy, protecting and adopting Little Sisters as they go on their hunt for Adam. The game developers thought it was imperative that this time around, gamers get to completely experience the true feeling of being a Big Daddy. "That means giving players access to the same kinds of weapons, abilities, and tactics that make the iconic creatures so intimidating", says lead level designer J.P. LeBreton. Of course that means wielding the deadly motorized drill, which, as Game Informer states, will be your default attack. For ranged attacks, you will have a fair selection of weapons tailored exclusively for Big Daddies as well.

Interactions with Little Sisters have become much important as well; basically, you need them. This time around, when approaching a Little Sister you will have the option to harvest or to adopt. (I bet it is safe to expect an Achievement for making it through the game without harvesting a Little Sister just like there was in the first game). Each choice will have its pros and cons depending on the situation.

Your main enemy in BioShock 2 is an enemy that is more dangerous than Fontaine's mind tricks -- the Big Sister. The Big Sister is ruthless and unmerciful as she hunts you down the more of a threat you become. Helping you with encounters such as Big Sister fights is the ability to duel-wield weapons and plasmids at the same time, allowing gamers even new options when it comes to defeating and attacking enemies.

Also confirmed is BioShock 2’s addition of multiplayer but denied by 2K was the rumor of a possible co-op mode.

This game sounds great. Figgers though with the Big Sisters. The older women get the harder they are to deal with ;)
