Since its projected release date of March 2009, God of War III has been nudged further and further away from making it to stores anytime soon. In fact, it won't even be hitting the shelves this year.
Now, the date of release had never been set it stone but we weren't given the slightest clue as to it's progress. It made sense for it to be pushed back initially. It could've been damaging to the game's impact to be released only a month after another Playstation 3 exclusive (Killzone 2). Then it was pushed to the holiday season of 2009, which seemed like a good time for such a big exclusive. Now we should be expecting it finally in March 2010! It will coincide with the previous release dates of the series, which was originally intended in 2009.
From the footage of what we've seen of the game, its obvious the delays were needed. Hopefully the delay will bring about nothing but success of this well anticipated game. I would much rather wait longer than to have my hopes shattered with a sloppy game. Sony can't afford to rush any of their exclusives either. All eyes are on them waiting for the killer exclusives we've been waiting for. With any extended wait anticipation and expectations build. Hopefully we will not be disappointed and this will be the final date of God of War III.
