Apparently, John Riccitiello of EA announced Dead Space would in fact be coming to the Wii. Notably this all took place during a phone call. EA plans to have it on shelves this year and promises that what we’ve come to love about this awesomely creepy game will still be there.

So, first it was Dead Rising… and now Dead Space? I imagine Dead Rising having only two/three zombies in view at a time due to the Wii’s not so awesome graphics. Now this!? So it seems they want to try an appeal to the hardcore gamer on the Wii when most gamers just own a PS3 and 360 for those kind of titles…

Personally, I don’t know how this could even look? For me, the fine detail in Dead Space was very crucial to the scary factor. It was crucial to the game period, actually.

Any Wii owners going to pick this title up? What are your thoughts on developers dumbing down hot titles for the Wii?

I refuse to pay money for this. After the horrifying sneak peek into what they did with Dead Rising, I know this game's glory won't be fulfilled properly in the Wii version. Too much will probably be edited out, and I can't imagine how the controls would work. Part of what's incredible about Dead Space is the precision and easy controls!!

I love Dead Space so much-- It's one of my Top 5 Favorite Games of All Time now. But I can't imagine this being the game I love so dearly. =/

Agreed, the detail and HD graphics really added to the atmosphere of the game ( I still havent got passed the beginning of the second stage lol). I dont think the same could be pulled off on the Wii. Now a new Dead Space game from the ground up for the Wii would, in my opinion, would better.

i can see someone buying this if they dont have a ps3 or 360. but why would u get this on the wii if u have the other systems.

I didn't like this game after playing it on the PS3, just can't get into the sci fi setting, but with that said, what's wrong with Dead Space coming to the Wii? The Wii should be getting these kinds of games at the rate it's selling. Now Wii gamers will get to play this game which is praised by so many, and while it won't have the graphics, it could certainly have the advantage in terms of controls. Aiming with the Wii remote is so much better than using a control stick imo.
