This weeks question for the Ask The GameGirls comes from James_Earl_Cash. He writes:

Hey girls, this is James_Earl_Cash.

My question for you is: If you could be any video game character's sidekick, who would it be?

JEC

I think I would want to be teamed up with Leon Kennedy from Resident Evil
4. I would love to kick some Las Plagas ass along side a guy who's sense
of humor shows how much he really doesn't give a damn about being
threatened by anyone.

...and did I mention he's totally hot?

JEC, I would definitely be Lara Croft's sidekick. I know she always works alone (in the field) but she is so rich! I mean come on, share the love Lara! I can run around, climb walls, do flips, and even kill tigers. I have played every Tomb Raider game since I was eight. I was made to be her sidekick. Even though I'm not British I feel that we would be excellent partners, and I wouldn't even ask for any of the treasure, just as long as I get to tag along everywhere. OK, maybe a little bit of the treasure...

Well James_Earl_Cash, I've never been much of a fan of the sidekick. Really, they've always annoyed me to no end or gotten in the way some how. All expect one that is. That one being the infamous HK-47 from SW: Knights of the Old Republic. (Come on people you should expect this by now from me!) Anyway, this fabulous protocol droid is blatantly hateful (a trait I'm very familiar with lol)  and just plain wants to kill anyone and everyone. Especially those filthy humans better known as "meatbags" to HK-47. He is definitely one hell of a badass and sure comes in handy although he is not your average poster boy sidekick. There is no telling where his loyalties lie though and I'm sure he would off his master no problem the second he was no longer "master". HK-47 is totally my kind of droid!

Well honestly, I would probably do my best to be a main character, and not the sidekick.  I don't like to be the one in the background.  But if I had to choose I would most likely want to work with someone, guns blazing but for a good cause.  So I would have to say Lara Croft, I mean think about it.  Traveling the world in style, doing flips, shooting guns, solving puzzles, and best of all finding things that nobody else has seen.  So you get to experience it before anyone else.  Although, it would be cool to have gotten to kick some Locust butt with Marcus Pheonix or killing the covenant with Master Chief.

I think my fandom is going to kick in here and I'm going to go with Link. I'd marry that man. I know that Link will always come through and save the day, no matter what. Plus, he's good-looking and has a sweet ride. Although, I'm sure I'd get tired of his minimal vocabulary: 'HA! TEYAH!'

I would for sure be Nero's sidekick in Devil May Cry 4.  I would be this super cool chick with a part demon leg thing to compliment Nero's 1337 arm.  He's just such a badass character that i cant help but think that it would be a blast to be his sidekick, not to mention he's ridiculously cute, and so is Dante, and pretty much every single character in the game who i would die to meet. :) Yep, those are pretty much my prerequisites for hiring me on as a sidekick, super hott, bad ass, and he rolls with some other super hott/awesome characters, what more can a girl ask for?

Hey James!! Hmm, good question! I guess I would have to say, I would want to be Dom from Gears of War. Most sidekicks really don't get to be part of the action, they just kinda observe and every now and then they get to take part in something a little bit fun. For the most part, sidekicks are just the hero's bitch. I would want to be Dom because he has just as much to do with the action as Marcus and in some instances, Dom can be very funny and have more of a chill personality. So, long explanation, but I would want to be Dom.

What are some of your game suggestions?

On gaming sidekicks i must say that i love HK-47 from SW-KOTOR, Cortana from Halo, Tails from Sonic, Otacon from Metal gear, Navi and Epona from Zelda, Floyd from Jet force gemini and Kazooie from B&K.
But the best sidekick in all history will always be CHEWBACCA.

I'm gonna have to say that Janessa wins this one.

But as for my pick, Goofy had better get out of the way, 'cause I would totally team up with Sora from Kingdom Hearts.
But I'd wanna be one of the partners from the Disney worlds that Sora can't replace, since I'm cool like that.

Aegis

I'm gonna say Raiden from MGS4(not Raiden from MGS2), he was badass in MGS4.

klasco

i agree with Jess not for the riches but for the adventure though being a male it will be hard to keep my attention towards the given mission and not well you know.

Jess

@Klasco- I didn't mean I wanted to be her sidekick because of the money, I was merely pointing out the ..er.. benefits :D I would love to travel to all those exotic places with ancient ruins and an endless supply of medicinal packs (ancient medicine?). :P

klasco

i know, i should of written my comment differently. in otherwords:

>>>i agree with Jess for being the sidekick of Lara for the adventure and not the riches.<<< that was basically what i was trying to say.

my English is fail basically

Hard question for me to answer for myself, but if I had to go with one it would be Jeff from Earthbound. He doesn't have the "special" powers that his friends have, but damn it, the kid has heart. Even though he lacks PSI ability he's able to keep up with his own skills: intelligence. Not only does he hold his own, but he covers an entire country by himself (and a "bubbly" monkey) to save the friends he's never met.

Pure win.
