Haven't you sat down and said.. "Hm.. I could really go for a taco right now.." or "Jee willakers.. I want some pasta" without the faintest idea how to make it? Having no previous experience in cooking, and not even knowing where your nearest food store is, Personal Cooking: Trainer can give you the motivation you need to look in your cupboards, hop in the car, and get started.
For those seasoned chefs, fear not, each recipe has a difficulty level, so you can challenge your mastery of the ovens.
The first step in this game is selecting what you want to eat, which can be done by looking at the world map. All you have to do is pick the native country of the food you want and voila! A whole list of dishes from that country with their cooking time, difficulty level, ingredients, and even calorie count. Brilliant? I know.
The next step is heading over to your local grocery store with your list of ingredients generated by the game. Cooking for more then 4? No problem, the game has a built in feature to adjust serving size. In this part of the process you can even go over the steps needed to prepare it, use the calculator to determine cost of ingredients, and really decide if this is the meal for you.
Finally, you get to cook. The game will take you step by step through the cooking process with spoken instruction as well as written. Now the coolest part?? You can give commands to your cooking mentor if your hands are covered in food. Just say aloud "continue", "repeat" or even "more details" if you are stuck. My favorite feature? The timer, which can be conveniently activated by saying "start timer", and knows how long to time your food for, with a cute little alarm when finished.
Last step is eating your wonderful creation. Oh, and when you are done don't forget to stamp your cooking calender so you can remember when you cooked those awesome tacos, or that lasagna that everyone loved.
So there you have it, a fun easy way to start cooking without ever having tried it before, and grow as a chef like you never imagined you could. The game has limitless possibilities, from making your own pizza crust to learning how to use odd utensils such as a Ramekin. The rest is up to you and your cooking trainer. Bon appetit!
