So the other day as I was getting my usual fix of overpriced Japanese gadget shopping, I came across something not so useless that wasn't even Japanese! I found the Nabaztag/tag, an amazing little AI creature that will make you feel like you need it faster than you can say pwned.
This adorable AI bunny uses Wi-Fi technology to access not only the internet but an entire network of nabaztag bunnies as well. It extracts information from the World Wide Web and delivers messages to you in many novel ways. Using its ears, a series of lights on its exterior and a voice that is unique to only your bunny, the nabaztag can read you email messages, facebook status' and even other peoples twitters. These nabaztags can do some of the most amazing things, and here are some of my favorites of their features.
  • Tai Chi: The nabaztag whirls it's adorable bunny ears around with the sounds of wind chimes playing through its speakers in an effort to bring peace and tranquility to your desk or bedroom.
  • Ear Language: My personal favorite, you can use the ears of your bunny to remind your sweetheart that you're always thinking of them, no matter where they are. Move your bunny's ears and your honey's bunny's ears will move in the exact same way, you can even add an mp3 to the message if you like.
  • Weather: Your bunny can give you weather forecasts for anywhere in the world, and it can even read aloud the exact temperature at the time you like.
  • Weekly Recap: Nabaztags aren't just bunnies that recite information for you, they have opinions and personalities too! If asked, your bunny will tell you exactly how they thought your week went.
  • Stock Portfolio: Your nabaztag can tell you exactly how much each of your individual stocks in your portfolio have gone up or down. It can even update you on information from the stock market and can give you audio reports at any time you choose.
  • Air Quality Check: At your command, your bunny will breathe in for you and use his lights to tell you whether or not the air is polluted in the city of your choice.
  • Talking Clock: At the top of every hour, your bunny will announce the time for you in its signature voice.
  • Nabaztag Mood: Once again proving to you that he's more than an palm pilot in a cute bunny shaped exterior, this bunny will not hesitate to tell you how they feel thoughout the day.
  • Nabcasts: These are podcasts that are created by different users in Nabaztaland. You can record them using the microphone on your bunny's tummy, and your thoughts, dreams, and ideas are posted for all of Nabaztaland to see.
  • RSS Feeds: Subscribe your bunny to your favorite RSS feeds such as CNN, or BBC news, and it will update you on the news at any given time.
  • Nabztamps: Books that have these Nabztamps on them can be read aloud by your bunny! Just wave the Ztamp in front of the bunny's nose, and it will read the book aloud to you.
  • Of course the nabaztag can come with other features that are equally if not more fun for a small subscription price, but these were the ones that come with your bunny automatically. The nabaztag can also function as a full alarm clock that can wake you up or sing you to bed with your favorite mp3s, which I thought was especially endearing. These bunnies are extremely customizable, you can buy different bunny ears to change your bunny's appearance, which brings a sense of individuality to the product because no two bunnies are exactly the same. I bought myself a super kawaii desk friend who sits and sways his head while he holds business cards, but I think hearing about these nabaztags makes me itch for an upgrade.

Everyone can definitely benefit from having one of these bunnies as a desk friend, I know my desk character just isnt cutting it with his head swaying and solar powered business card holding. Sooo maybe Gamepro should spring to buy one for each of us gamegirls for Christmas because you know we definitely need to communicate through er, ear language and such haha

lol, cool, but instead of bunnies they look more like ghosts with horns, friendly ghosts.
The ear language seems cool, as well as the Nabcasts. congratz on your first blog, nice.

i'm not sure i'd be able to withstand listening to the bunny. i'd much rather just read my email, look outside to find out what the weather is like (why does the weather even matter anyway). i don't even know if we have a stock market and this little bunny telling me that 190 are dead and it's happy would really freaky me out.

this reminds me of the furbies that had taken over the world a few years back.

well at least it could tell you the air quality is now full of chlorine gas as it just released it to take you down or it would hypnotize you with it's tai chi. (what I'm 8yo boy inside lol)

wait now that i think about it is a perfect gift for the family wow this is genius lol. still though i wouldn't buy it but that's just me

They seem like neat little gizmos. But speaking of Gizmo, they look eerie enough to be some kind of monster hiding behind a cute facade. Just look at those expressionless faces and black eyes; I'd be afraid they'd murder me in my sleep or something :) Nice 1st article BTW Janessa!

Oh man... this is a little off topic, but is that a San Diego tram station? I think I might have seen you at Comic con!
