This years E3 may have been lacking much excitement, but for us survival horror fans, it was a good show. Three big hitters were shown and more info released at E3. I personally am looking forward to this fall, with Silent Hill: the Homecoming, Resident Evil 5, and Left 4 Dead, it is guaranteed to be one scary season. Check out the trailers and decide for yourselves.




Silent Hill: the Homecoming: (scheduled to release in September)
I have honestly been trying to not research this title out too much, I am a huge Silent Hill fan and believe sometimes trailers and the game developers can give away too much (just look at the Dark Night movie trailers...jesus, they show you just about all the good points of the movie!). I have watched a few demo walkthroughs to make sure it has that special Silent Hill feel to it, and while browsing the net, I could not help but see this little gem. Whether it's officially true or not, I do not know. I kinda wish I had not seen it, would have rather been surprised...but now it has just confirmed that I will definitely be buying this game on release date.



Yep, that's Pyramid Head...one of the scariest boss's I have ever seen!




Resident Evil 5: (scheduled to release in March 2009)
With the announcement of co-op play in the newest Resident Evil, it's hard to not become almost obsessed with this title. No more watching my boyfriend playing it, no more taking turns...now we can play one of my favorite series together. This is huge, the only other true survival horror game that allowed co-op was Obscure which was only fun b/c of the co-op aspect, I am glad the game developers are making alot more games that allow more than one player, and I am glad this type of gameplay has officially made it's way into the survival horror genre.




Left 4 Dead: (scheduled to release in November)
Multiplayer zombie game...really, it can't get much better than this. More and more about this title keeps dripping out, just enough to keep my excitement growing.

hmmm... Dead Space or Siren or actually Dead Rising for the Wii. That is so awesome that they are porting it!

why am i not surprised that you are missing Siren: Blood Curse from this list. which from what i have been seeing is impressing people. but i guess i shouldnt be surprised being this site can be a bit 360-centric at times.

They all look good but out of the three I'm most looking forward to RE5 definitley.

The controls were very difficult to maneuver and the ghost sight or whatever it was called was too gimmicky for me. So the second on is VERY low on my list. The three above are more worth mentioning as my top 3 survival horror games that I am personally looking forward too.

It has nothing to do with what system it is or isn't on.

I am going to get Resident Evil 5, Dead Space, and the new Siren, I heard the new Siren is impressing a lot of people. Siren could be the new underrated game this season.

have you actually played the demo? or are you basing it just off the old game? the game looks on par with an RE5 visually. and that is impressive for a PSN game.

SILENT HILL
Any silent hill can beat any othe game anytime, i say this because when it comes to survival horror i can say:been there done that, is one of the genre that i play the most. SH homecoming will be excellent, along with Resident Evil, but Silent hill will be the best series, . It could be a lot better if they add the gore like the Postal games.
Left for 4 dead is great too, the trailer looks awesome,
