I don't know about all girl gamers, but I receive comments all the time about how I do not represent the Girl Gamer population correctly. They base this comment on the fact that I prefer to play FPS or Racing games rather than the Imagine, Petz series, or other games generated to push towards girls.

Since when did being a "Girl Gamer" mean you have to only play certain games. I see many people play different genres all the time. No, you won't see me discuss Imagine Fashion Designer or other games on that genre. But think about it. Those games are geared more towards the younger generation of girls. Girls between the ages of 7-15 where they want to learn about becoming a Fashion Designer, or whatever Imagine game they are interested in. The games in each of those series give an example of what kinds of things you can do. Now I can't speak for all the gamer girls in the world, but I for one know what I want to do and what I like to play. So when I write, I write about the games that interest me.

All my girlfriends that are gamers love the same games I do. Some play games I don't. But I don't bash them for it. All girls are different and like different things. So I don't expect to be considered the example of the whole Girl Gamer population. But I play video games, and I'm a girl. So if that doesn't make me a Girl Gamer, than I don't know what does. In my eyes, I'm a Girl Gamer and proud of it.

and of course not all guys are violent video game players vice versa etc etc blah blah you get the idea i'm sure.

I really hate it when people tell you what you should do just because of your race, gender, or age. Gamer girls can play whatever the hell they want; there is no certain game that they should be playing in my eyes.

im gonna take a shot in the dark and say this comes from something some1 said over XBL? if so, then i got a serious question 4 u.........why dont u just play PSN?????????? u dont get that kinda harassment in the psn community. or if u PC game, play Windows Live. and depending if u dont mind talking, play Wii online (i do all 3). also, u ppl are in DIRE NEED of a message board. and to make things fresh, make 1 of the categories "Rants" so u ppl can differentiate yourselves from your brother message boards (gamepro message boards)

@ Sonyboy69 - actually I work in retail in an electronics department. So I am constantly giving advice on games. That is where I hear a lot of. You've played that? Really?

But in general girl gamers will hear it anywhere they play at.

Of course your a gamer, and a wonderful one @ Ladyluck, you have a good video game knoeledge than other girls have, it does not matter what games you play. when i buy FPS i dont see on the back of the case a sign that says �Only for boys�. FPS dont generalize. Remember that sometimes people ask stupid questions. Keep up the good gaming :)
