Many people put Gears of War at the top of their Favorite Game's list. Gears is without a doubt a great game but there were a significant number of fans who complained about the weak and sometimes absent story. Epic seems to have heard the cries of it's fans and decided to do something about it. According to Carlos Ferro, the voice actor behind Dom Santiago, the story-line has been vastly improved.  It's going to be more emotionally affecting than Bioshock. A lot happens", he says.

Gears of War 2 is set to come out later this year, most likely in November. It will be a sequel to the acclaimed third person shooter, Gears of War, which came out in 2006. GoW2's plot takes place 6 months after the end of the first game. Marcus and Dom, as well as two other Delta Squad members, will be defending Jacinito Plateau, the last hold out for humanity, against the Locust. GoW2 will use an upgraded version of the Unreal Engine 3.

Gears of War is easily one of my favorite games for X360. When people complained about the story to me I saw what they were talking about. Sure, the dialogue was a bit weak and story line was vague but I didn't care. The action and game play was so seamless that the story didn't even matter. As for the dialogue, it was like Rambo 4, sure there was hardly any complete sentences but that's not what I wanted from the experience. I hope that Epic doesn't try too hard to satisfy the fans who want more story and take away from the action of the game. Either way this just makes me more excited for November.

yea so i did something REALLY stupid. i wondered what would happened if i cranked the character model detail, environment detail, decal detail and post processing all to the highest setting on my Asus G1S laptop n it quickly crapped out and when i booted the game back up to change my settings back 2 how i had them, i noticed that my save file had deleted itself in the process of me fucking around lol so i had to start over. not sure what chapter i was on but i was on act 4 (past the part where ur un the cave and gotta fight that big ass spider). i was a good way through the game and i gotta do it over again sadly. but back 2 gears 2.......i like the added items (5 shot pistol w/ 2 clips, the shield, updated power w/ the lancer) and the ability to chainsaw some1 from their asshole to their head aka "chainsodomy"

Didn't pay attention to the story mode at all and I beat it on all difficulties..... Who really cares for campain mode in this game?? It's all about Multiplayer my Friend!!

well i played the pc version, i haven't played the 360 version :/ but anyway, the game likes me XD, so much that i played around 10 times ( or i thing more XD i don't remember )LOL. ok call me crazy o something like that but really like this game so much (ok i said before XD).

i can't wait for this new gears XD..

I had a lot of fun with the game. It's a great shooter but I think that the people developing Gears 2 are becoming too cocky. First Cliff takes a couple of cheap shots at MGS 4 and then the actor says that it will be more emotionally affecting than Bioshock.

I am sure that it will be a fun game and very good too but I wouldn't hold my breath for this last statement. If anything, the bar wasn't set too high as far as the story goes so it should be easy to make it better but I will only believe that's better than Bioshock's after I see it.

This is one game I hope it will live up to the hype but it gets kind of hard when people involved in the development start saying some of the stuff thay have lately. They are just making gamers expect some really monumental feats.
