Gamers can learn a lot about things you will use in your everyday life from video games. Not all things are bad. Yes, I know cars don't reappear after a few seconds. Yes, I know you do not carry infinite ammo or have pick up food to fill up your health. But if you look behind the meaning of things that you can learn in video games, you may just see that there are life lessons behind them.

7. You have to acquire your abilities. Not everything is just handed to you. You have to earn it, whether by accomplishing tasks or through hard work.

6. Your choices change the way the story plays out. Just like Fable, your actions and choices decide how people perceive you. You choose your own path. It's always been up to you. All choices have consequences whether they are good or bad. But each choice adds to the person you are.

5. If you don't like how the level is going, start over. As many racing gamers know, restarting a race can be key to beating the level the way you want to beat it. It's just like life. "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again."

4. A single good guy can defeat an infinite amount of bad guys. Believe in yourself and nothing can stop you. It's mind over matter. Everyone can do great things with their life. You just have to believe in yourself to make it happen.

3. You get more achievements by keeping up with the details. In Tomb Raider, you get achievements for finding specific amounts of Gold, Silver, or Bronze artifacts. Just like in life, if you put forth extra effort, you can achieve more than you normally would.

2. Always take the headshot. Not only is it the quickest way to get a kill in a video game (it also tends to get the most points). But it proves a great point. Don't beat around the bush. Get to the point. If you have something to say, say it. If you have something you want to do, do it.

1. Cheaters never prosper. The Microsoft Gamerscore Correction program is a great example of how cheaters are being caught, and punished for their actions. They lose all gamerscore points they cheated to get. Bungie is still banning accounts for modding. So play hard and earn what you want to achieve, because otherwise you're not really achieving anything.

Sigh, headshots... way over used in online gaming i thank. I think it is worse than spawn camping.

I think there is a reason headshots are over used... Mainly that's where you want to aim, rofl.

You know what's over used about headshots? This a la FPS Doug: "BOOOOOOOOOOOM HEADSHOT!!!!!!!!!"

Cryptoman

Headshot = "The enemy's gate is down" Or in Ender's case blow up a planet, lol.

I'd add handling situations to the list. I have actually learned quite a bit from GTA 4...and no, not just disposing of bodies :P
