Video games have gone A-List! That's right, on tonight's first ever A-List Awards the Chrysler Innovation Award went to Nintendo's Wii Fit. Now the good thing here is video games were front and center at an awards show that wasn't only catering to a niche market.
The A-List awards were set on the premise to recognize the best in food, fashion, beauty and pop culture. I guess we are pop culture, no?!
On a bad note, professional skateboarder, Andrew Reynolds, accepted the award, though I am not sure why and while he commended Nintendo for helping people to get up and break a sweat, he criticized those gamers who choose to put a controller in our hands and "only workout your thumbs." The nerve.
I was excited that a video game was recognized for something positive in the mainstream but to then make a "joke" about the gamers. I am saddened. Either way, I am happy gaming got an amazing kudos tonight.
Other winners included Tila Tequila, Christian Siriano, Lauren Hutton and more.
