While trying to write a blog in support of PWNED.COM, I attempted to be funny with a list of two things: Number one, was us, sucky Halo players need to stick together., and number two was maybe you'll eventually find someone who plays on your server in WoW. Now I know it was ment to be funny -- but the WoW thing is actually true.

I have toons on two different servers (Altar of Storms, and Blood Furnace). And even with having my name out and about like it is, I have STILL yet to randomly meet someone on my own server. I understand if folks meet in game, but I'm talking out of game on myspace, at events, on pwned, or any other site. Now I'm not complaining, I've met alot of great people in game. I'm just saying it would be pretty cool to be on myspace or 1up and find someone on your server randomly.

Is it just me, because of the two servers I picked are the unpopular ones? Or is it like this for everyone.

WoW has 9 million or so payed subscribers so i dont think it has to do w/ every1

I don't think I have ever ran into someone out of game that was from my server in an MMO. Been playing them since 2000 started with EQ. While 9 million play wow, how many of those are on her server and how many actually go to 1up or any other nonWOW related sites? Probably not many at all.
In a way I know how she feels. back in 01 I played a SOE game called Infantry online. I never ran into anyone who had even heard of the game until last week. Someone had mentioned it on GP and it was nice to finally see someone else talk about the game.

I don't play WOW anymore but when I did the only way I ever ran into someone I knew was to know what server they were on and add them. So yeah never anything random.

I haven't really ran into anyone from Myspace or anything, but I have convinced people to make toons on my server and play with me. Is blood furnace and Altar low populated?

I think we need to start some toons btw bunny! :)

Never ran into.. only re-rolled and started over on a server to join others.

I don't think I have "ran into" people on there, but I have had countless people make lvl 1 alts to come talk to me on my server and ask for advice, or to play with me etc.

Well... IRL I ran into one person from my guild and he said,"Hey you are Lothireal!" (my druids name.) We knew we lived in the same town, but it was still a weird moment.

Ive never had that but My boyfriend(who I actually met on wow) and I have just started up our own guild on the EU Aggramar server and we recruited a officer to help us run it and it turned out that he was from about 10 mins away from us. (We live in a small english town) Just proves its a small world after all :)
