Like most gamers out there I have been waiting for a site to come along that was set up just for gamers and by gamers.....I GOT MY WISH!! I was randomly surfing the world of the internet and happened to come across PWNED.com...now like most gamers when you hear "Social site for gamers" anywhere in the headline you think "yea right" and 9 times out of 10 you are correct but PWNED happens to be that one little glimmer of hope that you have for a site with actual real-life gamers. People who actually own huge collections of games like you do, who have insane set ups like you do and some who attend conventions/tournaments JUST LIKE YOU!
Now the definition of PWNED basically means "to own" or to be dominated by an opponent or situation, especially by some god-like or computer-like force. Now what gamer can't relate to that?? I use the word PWNED quite often when I beat someone or do some insane kind of move...who doesn't??? Now this site has alot of awesome things to offer a gamer so lets delve into that a little bit more. One of the things about this site is that its very appealing to any type of gamer, whether you are casual, hardcore or competitive. The site allows you to create a "Clan/Group" and enables you to send invites to any member of the site which is cool for those people looking to find new recruits for their gaming communities. Another awesome feature is being able to find games that you either "Own, Are Currently Playing or Are On Your Wishlist"! Can't find the game? Then upload the information yourself so that others who couldn't find it can now add it to their list as well. The creators of PWNED Andy/Pterodactylandy and Bo/b0gurt created something with you "Achievement Whores" in mind with the PWNED Point system. Basically in order to keep people coming to stay active on any site you must have something that appeals to them and PWNED has that. The way this system works is that almost ANYTHING that you do on the site can get you points such as: Inviting people, Talking in the shoutbox, Sending comments/recieving comments, Getting profile views..you get the idea. Now your wondering "What would I do with those?" thats simple USE THEM! These points can help you get anything from a 160 GB IPod , to consoles, games and gaming equitment.
Whats the best part about this site? The community! Despite it still being in the "beta" stage right now the group of gamers that are apart of this site thus far are amazing. I know a few of our readers here at GameGirl have started to already check out the site and its amazing to be able to keep in touch with all of you.
